ISPE Singapore Conference 2007, organised jointly by International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and Reed Exhibitions, is undoubtedly a perfect platform to discuss the latest regulatory, technological and practical issues facing multinational and regional pharmaceutical manufacturers in API, secondary pharma and biotechnology. The event will be held at Suntec Singapore from June 10-12, 2007.
Launched in 2000, ISPE Singapore Conference is all set to grab more international attention as it helps multinational and regional pharmaceutical manufacturers looking to improve their manufacturing processes and upgrade the technical knowledge of its middle and senior management. Last year, 348 participants attended the programme from 20 countries. Out of it, 82 per cent of the participants were from senior and middle management positions in multinational and regional pharmaceutical manufactu-rers, it is learnt.
ISPE Singapore Conference 2007 is considered as a unique world-class educational and networking opportunity for pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals in Asia. The event is expected to help one to upgrade technical knowledge, improve manufacturing process to maximise efficiency and productivity, get on the road to achieve excellence in pharmaceutical manufacturing and gain an insight on the international and regional perspective of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
This year, the event will feature six industry tracks and one special track on manufacturing excellence, two pre conference workshops, pharma nite, educational plant tours and trade show.
The organizers have incorporated pharma nite to provide an opportunity for the international and regional speakers and delegates to network and build relationships. While pre conference workshops are expected to provide in depth knowledge of selected processes and procedures in the manufacturing activities, educational plant tours will provide a unique opportunity for the participants to visit some of the most advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in Asia.
It is learnt that the registered delegates can choose to visit any one of the pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in Singapore, including Pfizer, Novartis, Schering-Plough, Merck, Sharp and Dohme and GlaxoSmithKline on a space-available basis.
As part of the event the organizers have arranged a trade show to showcase equipment, products and services, including analytical equipment and services, biopharmaceutical and biotechnology, cleanroom equipment and supplies, instruments and controls, labeling, coding and marking, plant engineering and maintenance, QA / QC, validation support and warehousing, distribution and logistics. The trade show is expected to help pharmaceutical manufacturers to improve their processes and the efficiency of the manufacturing process.
The conference cum trade show event will also provide a golden opportunity for the students in the field of research and development, facilities and business operations, pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries to showcase their talent in poster designing through the ISPE student poster competition. The winner of the competition will represent his poster at the ISPE annual meeting to be held in Las Vegas, Naveda from November 4-7, 2007. This is a great opportunity for the students to gain professional recognition and gain valuable learning experience, the organisers said.
Apart, ISPE Singapore Conference 2007 will see the selection of the ISPE / RBI Facility of the Year Award winner. The award is instituted to recognize state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing projects that use new and innovative technologies to deliver a quality product, while reducing the manufacturing cost.
